I’d like to begin with saying a huge thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their JataDread journey. I am sorry that I have to do this but my hourly rate will be increasing to £20 as off 1st January 2018. I don’t like having to do this but my study fees have also increased and I use all the money I earn from locking hair to pay for my Yoga studies. I hope you all understand.
Here is some locks that I’ve either started as fresh locks or tidied up since my last post in February 2017. Happy days x
First pic is a close up of a before and after tidy-up of loops. Second pic is a tidy-up and the third is fresh locks. So lucky I get to this work, it is happy work.
Dedicate this post to the person who visited me today for a tidy-up, you know who you are :)!
Look, just because you have decided to lock your hair, doesn’t mean you are free of the responsibilities of personal hair hygiene and maintenance. If you don’t look after your locks, you’ll end up being uncomfortable from them and with them and there is a good chance, you’ll end up loosing them.
Also, when the day comes to go getting them tidied up, it will be painful, will take a lot longer than necessary and time is money, so will cost you more. Continue reading
This is an update on the ‘JataDread Philosophy’ page https://jatadreads.com/jatadread-philosophy/
‘Locking someone else’s hair is not easy and is knackering on the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders and back. For this reason I limit my services to two days a week (Friday and Sunday) and I limit the hours to a maximum of 8 hours a sitting. Should the hair be longer than the shoulders then two sessions will need to be booked. Continue reading

Well I got to finish these beautiful locks today. Person didn’t want the manicured locks, they needed maintenance, but needed them to be organic as possible. Was an absolute pleasure so glad I got to experience and learn from this tidy-up. Happy days!
Tidy up today, ten locks that are a year old, started by person’s friend. I’m happy with end result.
What a privilege it was today to begin the maintenance of these neglected styled hair locks. Here this person most definitely didn’t want manicured locks, asked me to help the hair that was naturally locking but leave the hair that fell freely. Not having done anything like this before, I took my time and felt with my hands through levels of the hair, what is locking and what isn’t. What dawned on me, was that this person has pagan like hair locks, BEAUTIFUL!
We didn’t get to finish today because person had to be somewhere else. 2nd Visit is booked and I’m very much looking forward to seeing the finished result.
